Job Summary Surgical Biller - Full time Community Specialty Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surgical Biller to join our team. This is a 32-40-hour per week position with an opportunity to grow professionally as our organization continues to expand. Position Summary The Surgical Biller is responsible for accurate and timely billing of surgical and specialty healthcare services. This position will work closely with clinical, administrative, and insurance teams to ensure claims are submitted correctly, payments are posted accurately, and outstanding accounts are followed through to resolution. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about medical billing, insurance requirements, and surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit accurate claims for surgical and specialty services. Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits as needed. Review medical records, operative reports, and documentation to ensure appropriate billing. Assign and verify appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes, as applicable. Follow up on unpaid, denied, and rejected claims. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and insurance issues. Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately. Communicate with insurance companies, patients, providers, and internal departments regarding billing questions. Maintain accurate billing records and documentation. Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts when appropriate. Stay current with payer requirements, billing regulations, and coding changes. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies. Perform other billing and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in medical billing required; surgical or specialty billing experience preferred . Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and healthcare reimbursement. Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records/billing systems. High school diploma or equivalent required. Schedule Full-Time - 32-40 hours per week Specific schedule to be discussed during the interview process.
