Role:
Welcome patients with professionalism and enthusiasm, creating a positive first impression Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling, questions, and appointment coordination Schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently Verify medical and vision insurance eligibility and benefits Check patients in and out while maintaining accurate electronic health records Collect copayments, patient balances, and process payments professionally and confidently Coordinate referrals, records requests, and patient communications Assist with administrative projects and daily office operations Help maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming office environment Escort patients through the beginning of their visit and assist with patient flow Perform patient pretesting, including autorefractor measurements, Optos retinal imaging, and other diagnostic testing (training provided) Prepare patients for their examination and ensure testing is completed accurately prior to seeing the doctor
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 6 months of front desk experience in a medical, optometry, ophthalmology, or dental office (required) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable interacting with patients both in person and over the phone throughout the day Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Professional, dependable, self-motivated, and positive While we provide training on our office's systems and workflows, this position is intended for someone who already understands the pace and expectations of a healthcare front office and can contribute with minimal training.
Preferred Qualifications:
