Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant and Patient Services Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent clinical care, customer service, and administrative support in a concierge medical office setting. This is a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and delivering exceptional patient care.
Duties:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members
  • Obtain vital signs
  • Perform EKGs and phlebotomy
  • Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records systems (EPIC)
  • Assist with arranging specialist appointments for patients
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient appointments
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Provide general administrative support to the healthcare team
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical administration is a plus
  • Previous experience working as a medical assistant or receptionist or in a medical/dental office setting preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems (EPIC)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals in a courteous and professional manner
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
