Dental Patient Coordinator (Front Office) Wilmington Family Dental & Precision Periodontics Full-Time | Wilmington, MA Are you an organized, friendly, and detail-oriented professional who enjoys helping people while keeping a busy dental office running smoothly? Wilmington Family Dental is seeking a Dental Patient Coordinator to join our growing team. This unique position supports both Wilmington Family Dental and Precision Periodontics , our specialty practice located next door, providing variety and opportunities to expand your knowledge in both general dentistry and periodontics. Primary Responsibilities Welcome patients and create a warm, professional first impression Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage provider schedules efficiently Check patients in and out while ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage to patients Present treatment plans and review financial arrangements with confidence and compassion Coordinate patient financing and collect payments Process insurance claims, payments, and outstanding balances Maintain accurate electronic patient records and documentation Coordinate referrals and communication between general dentistry and the periodontal specialty office Monitor appointment schedules to maximize efficiency and patient flow Help maintain patient retention through follow-up appointments and outstanding treatment scheduling Respond to patient questions and resolve concerns with professionalism and empathy Support the clinical team with administrative tasks that contribute to an exceptional patient experience What We're Looking For Minimum one year of dental front office experience (required) Experience with dental insurance verification, claims, and treatment presentation strongly preferred Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Comfortable discussing finances and payment options with patients Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer applications Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to adapt between two neighboring practices while maintaining outstanding patient service Success in This Role The ideal candidate is someone who: Enjoys building lasting relationships with patients Thrives in a fast-paced environment Maintains exceptional attention to detail Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and discretion Understands the importance of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Is dependable, flexible, and solutions-oriented Communicates clearly with patients, providers, and teammates Takes initiative and is always willing to help wherever needed Working Conditions This position is primarily administrative and includes sitting, standing, frequent patient interaction, computer work, and occasional lifting of office supplies up to 35 pounds.
