Job Description

Outpatient SupervisorPosition Overview The Outpatient Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical oversight across in Silver Spring, Maryland. This position ensures consistent service delivery, high‑quality documentation, and adherence to Maryland Department of Health (MDH) regulations, COMAR, CARF Behavioral Health Standards, and HIPAA. The Supervisor supports staff development, maintains program integrity, and assists with service coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care. Education & Experience Requirements A bachelor's degree in counseling or a related discipline regulated under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, and/or certification or licensure as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or approval to supervise by the Board, or currently in process. Minimum of one year of clinical supervision experience required. Minimum of two years of experience in outpatient behavioral health or a related clinical setting. Experience with group programming or curriculum implementation preferred. Program Oversight & Regulatory Compliance Provide supervisory presence and support across both outpatient locations. Ensure program comply with MDH, COMAR, CARF, and HIPAA requirements. Monitor documentation quality, timeliness, and regulatory adherence. Participate in internal audits, external reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. Clinical Documentation & Staff Support Review counselor documentation for accuracy, completeness, and clinical appropriateness. Provide coaching and feedback to support staff development and strengthen documentation practices. Conduct routine chart audits and follow up with staff to maintain compliance standards. Service Delivery Support Monitor group schedules, attendance, and curriculum implementation. Provide group or individual session coverage as needed to support program operations and ensure continuity of care. Promote consistent delivery of high‑quality behavioral health services. Leadership & Staff Development Offer guidance, performance feedback, and day‑to‑day support to counseling and administrative staff. Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing competency development. Promote adherence to ethical standards, professional conduct, and organizational policies. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain supervisory documentation and required reports in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Participate in leadership meetings, planning discussions, and program development activities. Support implementation of policy updates and workflow improvements across both sites. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Comprehensive understanding of MDH regulations, COMAR, CARF Behavioral Health Standards, and HIPAA. Strong attention to detail with demonstrated expertise in documentation review. Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to coach and develop staff in a supportive, professional manner. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software. Work Location This is an in‑person position providing supervisory in Silver Spring outpatient location.

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
