Responsibilities Provide strategic oversight and operational management of the hospital's clinical laboratory, ensuring adherence to CLIA regulations and hospital policies. Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, including medical technologists, technicians, and support personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment. Oversee laboratory testing processes across disciplines such as clinical chemistry, hematology, blood banking, immunoassays, and molecular diagnostics (including

PCR, RNA

extraction, DNA isolation). Ensure rigorous quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols are implemented consistently to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability. Manage laboratory information systems (LIS), document management systems, and data collection processes for seamless workflow and compliance documentation. Coordinate specimen collection, processing, and analysis while ensuring proper venipuncture techniques and aseptic procedures are followed. Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations including CLIA standards, OSHA requirements, and hospital policies; conduct regular audits and staff training sessions. Oversee scheduling management to optimize laboratory staffing levels for efficient operations while supporting staff development initiatives. Lead efforts in research laboratory activities or clinical trials as needed to support hospital innovation and scientific advancement. Monitor inventory levels of medical laboratory equipment and supplies; oversee calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance. Requirements Proven experience in medical laboratory work within a hospital setting with comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures across multiple disciplines. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising teams in a fast-paced environment; ability to motivate staff toward excellence. Extensive knowledge of laboratory techniques including ELISA, flow cytometry, immunoassays, hematology analyzers, clinical chemistry analyzers, blood banking procedures such as blood sampling and venipuncture. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIS), document management systems, and data management tools for accurate record keeping. Strong understanding of CLIA regulations, QA/QC practices, and compliance management within healthcare laboratories. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret medical terminology accurately and convey complex technical information clearly. Ability to manage schedules effectively while maintaining high standards for quality assurance and safety protocols. Experience with blood banking procedures including specimen collection/processing and vital signs monitoring is preferred. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to clinical testing processes; familiarity with hospital workflows enhances operational efficiency.
