Hematology/Oncology Job Summary:
Plans, coordinates and is accountable for the major activities of a single or multiple division(s) within a clinical academic department including education programs, research grants and contracts, clinical operations, development, financial analysis, and personnel management. Works with the division chief to develop and administer the capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets and to establish division short and long term objectives.
Education & Experience Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in business/financial management or health care administration. Certifications, Licenses or Registration required:

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Organizational skills. Ability to implement policies and procedures, train, motivate, and supervise employees. Ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving issues.
Responsibilities:
Plans and manages the daily business and administrative operations in an assigned area. Implements organizational policies and procedures designed to accomplish departmental and divisional priorities and long-range goals. Supervises employees to include work allocation, training, scheduling, evaluation, and problem resolution. Reviews and interprets administrative policies and procedures and recommends/implements changes as required to achieve objectives. Prepares various operation and statistical reports and maintains applicable records and files. Maintain proper equipment and inventory levels. Collaborates with other personnel to resolve customer service issues, improve cost containment, increase productivity, and meet demands. Works closely with department business administration and acts as a liaison between management and other divisions, schools and departments. Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking.
