Overview Join a dynamic dental practice as a Scheduling and Insurance Coordinator, where your energy and organizational skills will drive smooth daily operations. In this vital role, you will coordinate patient appointments, manage insurance claims, and ensure accurate documentation to deliver exceptional patient service. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a key player in a fast-paced clinical setting, supporting both administrative excellence and patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments efficiently using electronic scheduling systems, ensuring optimal clinic flow and patient convenience Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and follow up on outstanding payments to maximize revenue cycle management Review and update medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for documentation review and data entry Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, insurance requirements, and follow-up care using professional phone etiquette and customer service skills Assist with medical billing procedures, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims processing Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and insurance documents while adhering to health information management standards Support clinic staff with administrative tasks such as typing reports, managing office supplies, and performing front desk duties Experience Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong familiarity in medical administrative support and office management Demonstrated knowledge of health insurance processes including health insurance claims submission and follow-up procedures Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and Medicare billing practices Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing (including 10-key) for efficient documentation and communication Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle phone communication professionally while maintaining a friendly demeanor Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable to ensure seamless integration into our team This role is essential for maintaining the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency. Pay:
$25.23 - $30.38 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 per week
