We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage insurance processes, verify patient coverage, and ensure accurate billing using Dentrix and CDT coding standards . Prior dental office experience and a strong familiarity with HIPAA regulations are essential. The Insurance Coordinator plays a vital role in streamlining claims processing, minimizing outstanding accounts receivable, and enhancing patient satisfaction through transparent financial coordination.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Insurance Verification:
Verify patient insurance benefits accurately prior to appointments and update coverage details in Dentrix.
Claims Management:
Submit dental claims, track progress, and aggressively follow up on unpaid, delayed, or denied claims.
Coding Compliance:
Utilize current ADA CDT coding to ensure precise billing and documentation for all dental services rendered.
Patient Financial Services:
Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries, pre-determinations, and out-of-pocket cost estimates.
Records Maintenance:
Maintain detailed, organized, and compliant dental records related to insurance ledger entries.
Team Collaboration:
Support front desk and clinical staff by providing accurate financial and verification documentation.
Regulatory Compliance:
Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and stay updated on changing insurance policies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven administrative experience in a dental office setting is required.
Software Mastery:
Proficiency with Dentrix practice management software is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of dental terminology, managed care plans (PPO/HMO), and ADA CDT coding.
Skills:
Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and strong professional communication skills.
Work Style:
Ability to work independently, problem-solve claim issues, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
