What You'll Be Doing Wake County EMS is excited to announce the expansion of its Quality Improvement office to better serve the residents and visitors of Wake County. As the Clinical Quality Improvement Supervisor, you will work closely with the Medical Directors and Clinical Quality Officer to lead the quality improvement and assurance efforts of Wake County EMS and supervise Clinical Quality Improvement Specialists. You will lead and oversee quality improvement projects, review clinical concerns, provide education to field staff, work with other Divisions to help guide system-wide training and education, and help manage and maintain the day-to-day functions of the Division of Medical Affairs.

Essential Functions:

Supervise and mentor Clinical Quality Improvement Specialists Provide feedback, direction, guidance, professional development and support to CQIS personnel to ensure efficient and effective operations within the Division of Medical Affairs Ensure data integrity and alignment with established standards, completion of data entry and utilization of specific database and clinical reporting software Identify and communicate ongoing clinical issues and trends to the Clinical Quality Officer Assist with development and delivery of quality improvement plans and education Facilitate clinical investigations to include gathering information and conducting interviews, as proscribed by the Clinical Quality Officer or supervisory staff of the Division of Medical Affairs Depending on level of investigation, provide recommendations to Clinical Quality Officer and Medical Directors for further action and communication with providers Educate and mentor system providers using proscribed tools and standardized methods Collaborate as needed with other department divisions to develop and deliver clinical education to staff across a variety of mediums About Our Team Wake County EMS is a cutting-edge emergency medical services system that is responsible for providing EMS services throughout Wake County including within each of the county's 12 local municipalities. We responded to over 140,000 requests for 911 EMS services in 2025. The Division of Medical Affairs, which includes the quality improvement activities of Wake County EMS, includes two full-time EMS Physicians and our Advanced Practice Paramedic program. The Basics (Required Education and Experience) Associates degree in EMS or healthcare related field,

• OR•mathematics, statistics, or a related field•OR•quality improvement or a related field Five years medically cleared in the Wake County EMS system OR a similar sized, high volume 911 transporting EMS system; OR demonstrated prior experience implementing quality assurance, quality improvement, or healthcare improvement projects Valid driver's license and safe driving record Equivalent education and experience are accepted Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) Bachelor's degree or equivalent in EMS or healthcare related field; OR mathematics, statistics or a related field; OR quality improvement or a related field Experience as a Field Training Officer or Advanced Practice Paramedic OR prior leadership experience in quality assurance, quality improvement or healthcare improvement project management North Carolina EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification Healthcare quality improvement/patient safety certification (IHI Open School Basic Certificate, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Certified Professional in Patient Safety, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
