The Director of Intake and Admissions (Patient Intake) is responsible for managing and overseeing the patient intake process for individuals entering methadone treatmen. This role ensures that all new patients are admitted with care, efficiency, and full compliance with clinical, regulatory, and ethical standards. The Director leads the intake team, coordinates with clinical and administrative departments, and ensures each patient has a supportive and seamless entry into treatment services.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all patient intake and admissions activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulations Supervise and support intake counselors, administrative assistants, and other staff involved in patient onboarding Ensure all required patient documentation and assessments are completed and processed in accordance with state, federal, and accreditation standards Evaluate patient eligibility for services based on clinical criteria and coordinate approvals for admissionStreamline and monitor the intake workflow to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for new patients Coordinate closely with medical, clinical, and billing departments to ensure continuity of care from admission onward Train and develop intake staff, ensuring high standards of professionalism and cultural competency Address any issues or delays in the intake process and assist in resolving patient concerns Collect and analyze patient intake data and prepare regular reports for leadership Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferredMinimum of 3 years of experience in patient intake, admissions, or substance use disorder treatment Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred Strong understanding of methadone treatment protocols and relevant healthcare regulations Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skillsProficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications Compassionate, patient-centered approach with sensitivity to the needs of individuals affected by substance abuse.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
