Clinical Lead Behavioral Health

Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Clinical Lead to support the day-to-day clinical operations of our substance use disorder treatment programs, including Partial Care, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient, and virtual services . Reporting to the Executive Director, the Clinical Lead serves as a key clinical resource for the treatment team and helps promote consistency, coordination, client engagement, and continuity of care across programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinician who enjoys clinical leadership, program development, mentoring, and helping treatment teams operate effectively. Key Responsibilities Serve as a clinical resource for clinicians, group facilitators, interns, and newly hired clinical staff. Help identify clinical or program concerns requiring review by the Executive Director, APN, or other appropriate clinical leadership. Coordinate clinical schedules and group coverage across Partial Care, IOP, Outpatient, and virtual programming. Monitor planned absences, schedule changes, census adjustments, admissions, discharges, and other clinical coverage needs. Assist with maintaining appropriate clinical coverage based on staff qualifications, scope of practice, and client needs. Support the development and restructuring of clinical curriculum and group programming. Lead or coordinate approved clinical pilot projects and program-development initiatives. Review group programming for clinical relevance, consistency, continuity, and level-of-care appropriateness. Help develop group outlines, educational materials, clinical resources, and implementation plans. Gather staff and client feedback regarding new clinical initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement. Identify clients who may be disengaging from treatment or at risk of premature discharge or leaving against medical advice. Coordinate appropriate engagement and retention interventions with the treatment team. Assist with coordinating clinical contact, case-management support, family involvement when appropriate, medication follow-up, level-of-care review, safety planning, referrals, and warm handoffs. Coordinate intern and trainee schedules, assignments, group participation, treatment-team involvement, and other appropriate clinical activities. Help orient interns to clinical programming, documentation expectations, professional boundaries, and their role within the treatment team. Participate in treatment-team meetings, case consultations, and program meetings. Promote continuity of care between Partial Care, IOP, Outpatient, and community-based services. Identify and help resolve clinical workflow issues affecting client care. Escalate significant or unresolved clinical and operational concerns to the Executive Director. Role Structure The Clinical Lead works collaboratively with: Executive Director APN Clinicians Group Facilitators Case Management Interns and Trainees Other designated clinical and administrative staff This position provides clinical coordination, consultation, and leadership support but does not replace formal clinical supervision. The Clinical Lead does not independently make personnel decisions, conduct formal employee evaluations, approve leave, determine staffing levels, or override the clinical judgment of treating clinicians, the APN, or the Executive Director. Clinical risk assessment, medical decisions, emergency intervention, and discharge decisions remain the responsibility of the appropriately licensed treating professional and organizational leadership. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a clinically experienced professional who is organized, approachable, and comfortable serving as a resource to a multidisciplinary treatment team. The individual should be able to balance clinical judgment with operational coordination while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and escalation procedures. Strong candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health environment and have an interest in clinical program development, staff support, client engagement, curriculum development, and continuity of care .
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
