Setting the Stage At RWJBarnabas Health, exceptional cancer care requires strong leadership, seamless operations, and a team committed to delivering an outstanding experience for every patient and family. We are seeking a collaborative and results-driven Assistant Director to help lead the day-to-day operations of the Cancer Center while supporting continued growth, quality, and operational excellence. In this role, you'll work closely with the Director of Operations, clinical leadership, physicians, and staff to oversee administrative and operational functions while ensuring the Cancer Center remains a safe, welcoming, and patient-centered environment. A Typical Day As the Assistant Director, you'll partner with Cancer Center leadership to oversee daily operations and ensure teams have the resources, direction, and support needed to deliver exceptional care.Your responsibilities may include:
Managing day-to-day Cancer Center operations in collaboration with the Director of Operations and other leadership partners Overseeing Billing team members Providing leadership and oversight to administrative and operational teams across the Cancer Center Managing employee performance, including coaching, feedback, recognition, corrective action, and professional development Evaluating workflows and implementing improvements that strengthen efficiency, quality, and the patient experience Monitoring departmental budgets, identifying variances, and proactively managing resources within established financial guidelines Partnering with leadership to establish goals, priorities, and operational plans for assigned areas Supporting regulatory and accreditation requirements, including coordination of applicable licenses and certifications Promoting effective communication and collaboration among physicians, clinical teams, administrative staff, and leadership Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members Assisting the Director of Operations with Cancer Center initiatives, projects, and operational priorities as needed This Role Might Be For You If...
