Medical Director, Addiction Medicine & Fellowship Program Director Flushing Hospital Medical Center -Flushing, Queens, NY Join a Premier Academic Addiction Medicine Program Flushing Hospital Medical Center, the first hospital established in Queens and a member of the MediSys Health Network, is seeking an experienced Medical Director of Addiction Medicine & Fellowship Program Director to lead our medically managed detoxification program and ACGME-accredited Addiction Medicine Fellowship. As Medical Director, you will oversee clinical operations of the detoxification service while leading fellowship education and collaborating with our expanding psychiatric services, including a new 30-bed inpatient psychiatric unit and Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). What You'll Do Clinical Leadership Provide medical oversight and direction for the medically managed detoxification unit. Ensure safe, effective, evidence-based addiction treatment services. Promote excellence in patient care, compliance, quality, and patient safety initiatives. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Behavioral Health, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine. Fellowship Leadership Serve as Program Director for the ACGME-accredited Addiction Medicine Fellowship. Lead curriculum development, resident and fellow education, mentoring, supervision, and program administration. Foster an environment of academic excellence and professional development. Quality Improvement & Research Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives. Support and engage in clinical research and scholarly activities. Advance best practices in addiction medicine through innovation and outcomes-focused care. Patient Care Maintain a limited clinical practice with a balanced allocation of administrative, educational, and clinical responsibilities. Qualifications Required MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Board Certified in Addiction Medicine. Minimum of three (3) years of Addiction Medicine experience. Unrestricted New York State medical licensure. Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and patient-centered care. Preferred Prior Medical Director or physician leadership experience. Fellowship Program Director, Associate Program Director, or teaching experience. Experience in quality improvement, performance improvement, and clinical research.
