Job Description

South Bedford Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Coordinator to join our team. You will be one of the first people our patients speak with and see when they arrive, so how you make people feel matters. Many of our patients are nervous, uncomfortable, or unsure about what comes next. We need someone who can greet them warmly, communicate clearly, and help the office feel calm and well organized. This is a busy role. You may be balancing phones, patients, schedules, and last-minute changes all at once, and we need someone who can do that without losing their cool. You should be polished and professional, but also genuinely kind, approachable, and able to be firm when needed. You will guide patients, protect the schedule, solve problems, and help keep the office one step ahead. What You'll Do Welcome patients and create a warm, professional first impression Manage patient check-in and checkout Answer incoming calls and schedule, confirm, or reschedule appointments Help patients understand what to expect and what they need to do next Keep patient information accurate and up to date Support treatment and case presentations when needed Identify scheduling issues early and help resolve them Process basic front-office financial transactions, including credit card payments Keep the front office organized and professional, even on the busiest days Coordinate with providers and team members to maintain efficient patient flow Support daily clinical operations and prepare surgical suites when needed Follow all applicable infection-control, privacy, and safety procedures What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent A warm, patient, and genuinely welcoming approach Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organization and attention to detail The ability to manage multiple priorities without becoming flustered Sound judgment and a willingness to solve problems instead of waiting for someone else to notice them A professional and respectful approach with patients and coworkers Comfort using standard office software and patient-management systems Accurate keyboarding and data-entry skills Previous oral surgery, dental, surgical, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred The ability to work well as part of a team required What We Offer Paid holidays Paid time off that increases with years of service Ongoing training and professional development Exposure to advanced surgical and anesthesia procedures A supportive, team-oriented workplace The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day Please note: This position requires availability to work two Saturdays per month.
