Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service and administrative support within a medical or dental clinic environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic. Manage incoming calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for the clinic. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history. Assist with medical billing processes and ensure accurate filing of patient records. Prepare care plans and maintain up-to-date patient files in compliance with HIPAA standards. Utilize software for managing patient data and appointment scheduling. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations within the clinic. Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly, providing necessary information or directing them to appropriate personnel. Requirements Previous experience as a receptionist in a medical or dental setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical billing practices and familiarity with dental terminology is a plus. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Athenahealth, is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing exceptional patient care are required.
