Job Description

The Behavioral Health Coordinator will facilitate regional activities in support of behavioral health initiatives. This position will lead efforts in mental health awareness training, suicide prevention, connections to care, and other strategies to strengthen the mental health and substance use infrastructure and promote mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being in the communities of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a regional Mental Health Awareness and Literacy training plan, to include coordinating and delivering mental health awareness trainings for community members and key stakeholders. Become certified and serve as a trainer for various evidence-based mental health awareness curricula. Identify training needs and gaps within the region and recommend strategies to expand behavioral health knowledge and response capacity. Track training participation and resulting referrals to evaluate training effectiveness. Facilitate improved access to mental health or substance abuse services by ensuring accuracy of and promoting a directory of behavioral health services and resources. Develop and implement community outreach and engagement strategies to increase awareness of mental health, suicide prevention, crisis support services, and available resources to include coordinating and participating in community events, presentations, and other awareness initiatives. Coordinate and facilitate a monthly committee meeting, including developing agendas, fostering partner participation, and identifying action items. Assist with grant implementation and reporting requirements, to include tracking program metrics and preparing reports. Perform other duties, as assigned, to support FDRHPO's mission and strategic workforce priorities.

Qualifications:

Experienced professional with initiative, who is goal-oriented and outcomes-driven. Post-secondary degree or equivocal work experience in business, program management, healthcare, social work, human resources, or a related field. Experience delivering trainings, educational programs, or public presentations. Proven ability to independently manage grant projects with exceptional organizational detail and adherence to deadlines. Exhibits excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
