Summary:

The CDI Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Clinical Documentation Improvement program to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and clinical integrity of medical record documentation. This role provides leadership and guidance to CDI specialists, supports regulatory compliance, and promotes collaboration among providers, coding, quality, and revenue cycle teams to achieve optimal patient care documentation and appropriate reimbursement. 1.

Formal Education Required:

a. A graduate from an accredited nursing program with active nursing license or equivalent degree in Health Information Management. 2.

Experience and Training Required:

a. Five (5) years' experience years of clinical documentation experience in an acute care setting b. CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) or CDIP (Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner) 3.

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

a. Strong knowledge of

ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG

methodology, and clinical documentation guidelines b. Proven leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills c. Ability to analyze data, track trends, and present findings to leadership and providers d. Strong critical thinking and decision making abilities e. Effective written and verbal communication f. Ability to coach providers and staff in a professional, collaborative manner g. Proficient in EHR systems and CDI software tools h. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement i.
