Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Administration Technician (MAT) or Advanced / Certified Medication Aide (ACMA) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely administering medications and providing essential resident care within a senior living or healthcare facility. Your expertise will help ensure residents receive accurate, timely medication management while supporting their overall well-being. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately to residents in accordance with state healthcare regulations and facility policies. Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects post-medication administration and report findings promptly. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with resident personal care activities, including hygiene, mobility support, and vital signs measurement. Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Follow strict protocols for medication storage, handling, and disposal to ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety standards. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, families, and other caregivers to coordinate resident care plans. Qualifications Valid certification as a Medication Aide (CMA), Advanced Medication Aide (AMTA), or equivalent credential recognized by the State Board of Nursing. Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems) such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining resident confidentiality at all times. Experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or hospice care is preferred. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary while adhering to safety guidelines. Current CPR and First Aid certifications; additional training in tube feeding, catheter care, or hospice care is a plus. Excellent communication skills for caregiving and caregiver communication; compassionate approach to resident personal care assistance.
