Job Description

Orenco Family Medicine is a private practice in Hillsboro, serving Oregonians of all ages. From unexpected illnesses to preventative medicine, our professional team of board-certified physicians, PAs, NPs, and technicians offer quality care. We are searching for a patient scheduling coordinator to help support our growing practice. You would be responsible for coordinating the physicians' schedules with office visits, procedures, labs, and more. The individuals that will be successful in this role will be able to handle shifting priorities, are comfortable in scheduling software programs, and are able to function in a fast-paced environment, all while providing the best service to our patients. Under direct supervision, our patient scheduling coordinator is responsible for scheduling patient appointments and tests in an efficient and timely manner. Answers all incoming calls and directs calls to appropriate personnel. Our coordinators serve as a liaison between the patients and medical staff.
Responsibilities:
Schedules patient appointments in the computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines. Cancels/reschedules patient appointments according to physician schedule changes Answers incoming calls; assesses caller's needs and directs to appropriate personnel. Perform outgoing calls Obtains and communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner. Greet patients who are checking in/out. Collects co-pays, account balances and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit Documents' no shows in patient's chart for missed visits. Manage digital faxes. Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic.
Experience/Training:
A minimum of 3 years of office or customer service experience. Ability to multi-task based on changing priorities. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to problem solve. Commitment to customer service. Bilingual (Spanish), preferred not required. Ability to sit for several hours.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. Current government mandates require full COVID vaccination status.

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
