Position Summary:
Utz is seeking a Health & Benefits Coordinator to play a key role in supporting our employee health and welfare programs. In this position, you'll help ensure associates receive an exceptional benefits experience by administering health and wellness programs, supporting enrollment activities, and serving as a trusted resource for benefit-related questions. This role works closely with associates, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, Payroll, and Human Resources teams to ensure accurate benefits administration and compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and enjoys helping others navigate important benefit programs.
What You'll Do:
Serve as a primary point of contact for associates with general questions about benefits, wellness programs, and available resources providing clear guidance and accurate information. Administer benefit transactions, including new hire enrollments, annual enrollment activities, qualifying life events, dependent changes, and benefit terminations. Review benefit-related documentation for completeness and accuracy, resolve routine issues, and identify discrepancies or missing information. Partner with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, payroll, and Human Resources to support accurate plan administration and resolution of employee benefit inquiries. Support COBRA administration and prepare required government forms and notices, including Qualified Medical Support Notices, Medicare-related forms, Social Security documentation, and HIPP forms, in accordance with established procedures. Coordinate benefit communications, wellness initiatives, employee engagement activities, and open enrollment support to promote awareness and participation in benefit programs. Support department workflows through the maintenance of confidential electronic and paper benefit and wellness records, trackers, logs, calendars, and other shared resources. Coordinate administrative activities for the Utz Fitness Center, including access requests, employee communications, record maintenance, and general program support. Support documentation workflows for leave and accommodation programs as needed. Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
Education Associate's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or a related function Experience supporting health and benefit programs, preferred Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred Skills Strong organizational, documentation, and analytical skills with high attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset. Working knowledge of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits as well as applicable regulations such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA. Experience working with HRIS, benefits administration, and vendor platforms, preferred. Flexibility to perform at levels to meet peak demands in periods of high volume and activity. Frequent interaction with associates, vendors, insurance carriers, and internal teams. Primarily office-based work with occasional participation in employee meetings, wellness events, and other onsite activities.
