Job Description

The Functional MDs, Carmel, Indiana Full-time, in person, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM $23 to $30 per hour, depending on experience About us The Functional MDs is a physician-led functional and integrative medicine practice in Carmel.
We practice concierge-style care:
a small patient panel, longer visits, and a level of personal attention most people have never had from a medical office. Our patients come to us for root-cause care in gut health, hormones, metabolic health, and longevity, and they stay because of how they are treated. This role is at the center of that experience. You are the first person patients meet when they arrive, the one who rooms them and takes their vitals, and the one who makes sure everything they need is ready when they leave. The role This is a hybrid position, about half front desk and half clinical support, and it suits someone who wants both.
On the patient-experience side:
Welcoming and checking in patients so every visit starts calm and unhurried Answering calls, messages, and emails with the same warmth in every channel Scheduling and coordinating appointments Reviewing intake forms and questionnaires ahead of visits Uploading labs, imaging, and records into the EMR On the clinical side: Rooming patients and taking vitals Preparing and dispensing supplements through our online dispensary Assembling and shipping at-home lab kits, and tracking results as they come in Keeping exam rooms stocked and ready This is not a high-volume rooming job. You will know our patients by name, and they will know you. Who does well here You treat patient experience as the job, not a side of it. People leave feeling looked after. You are warm and steady, and you make anxious patients comfortable without being asked You communicate clearly and kindly, on the phone, in writing, and in the exam room You are quick, you think ahead, and you handle several things at once without dropping any You notice details other people miss You pick up new software fast You take initiative and follow through Experience Medical assistant, medical office, or patient coordination experience is preferred. So is experience from hospitality, spa, concierge, or high-end customer service, where anticipating what people need is the whole job. We will train the right person on the clinical side. Comfort with EMRs and online systems is important. CMA or RMA certification is a plus but not required. Interest in functional medicine or wellness is welcome but not expected. Where this goes The practice is growing, and this role grows with it. The person who owns the patient experience today is the natural lead for the front office and clinical support team as we add staff and services. What we offer $23 to $30 per hour Health insurance 10 days paid time off plus major holidays No weekends, no evenings, no on-call Employee discount and access to eligible practice services How to apply Apply here on Indeed with your resume and the short questions that follow.
