Position Description Advertised Job Summary Coordinator of Behavioral Health Services Are you passionate about providing holistic mental health support to college students while working as part of an integrated medical and behavioral health team? How have you collaborated with medical providers, counselors, or multidisciplinary teams to improve access to mental health care and support positive client outcomes? What experience do you have conducting behavioral health assessments, crisis interventions, and connecting clients with the appropriate level of care and community resources? Would you be excited to lead and coordinate collaborative care initiatives, while also providing direct clinical services, outreach programming, and mental health education within a university setting? We have the job for you! The Coordinator of Behavioral Health Services provides a broad range of counseling and psychological services to students including behavioral health consultations, initial consultations/assessments, and referrals to appropriate services. Additional clinical duties include provision of time-limited, goal-focused therapy interventions; opportunities to co-lead therapy groups and/or workshops; engage in outreach and engagement activities; and provide crisis support when needed. They work collaboratively with Student Health and Well-Being ( SHWB ) medical team to manage behavioral health issues that arise in the clinic and offer consultation, education, and training to medical providers to increase mental health literacy. The Coordinator of Behavioral Health Services manages the Collaborative Care Team; coordinating all meetings, managing procedures related to collaborative care, managing collaborative care referrals, and serves as the liaison between CAPS and SHWB medical providers. The Coordinator of Behavioral Health Services conducts clinical work and documentation in compliance with departmental, division and University of South Carolina policies and procedures. They participate as a multidisciplinary team member to provide evidence-based practice with primary focus on initial diagnostic evaluation, assessment, and referral to appropriate level of care. They also participate in departmental meetings, work groups and task forces. Primary Job Duties Provide a broad range of time-limited counseling and psychological services to students to include individual, couples, and group therapy. Responsible for the development, implementation and management of collaborative care program Collaborate with leadership and staff to advance the department's mission and strategic goals. Engage in professional development activities in alignment with licensure, professional affiliation, and best practice standards. Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to the program.

Preferred Qualifications At least two years post licensure experience providing direct mental health services, preferably with young adults. Experience in brief intervention, mental health crisis assessment, and group therapy. Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of clinical concerns using a variety of treatment modalities/approaches. Knowledge of electronic health records systems. Ability to appropriately assess and intervene in crisis situations. Experience providing both in-person and online/virtual assessment & counseling. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. Ability to treat all people equitably and with a sensitivity and awareness to cultural differences. Considerable knowledge of professional ethics and the ability to apply to current work. Experience working within a short-term treatment Stepped-Care model. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly and effectively synthesize information into a coherent analysis. Strong decision making and motivational skills. Strong clinical skills. Familiarity with evidence based mental health treatment in an outpatient setting.
