Manages the day-to-day operations of a small or medium-sized university program or department. May supervise staff employees, student workers, programs or processes. 1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a small or medium-sized department or program. 2. Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence to budget. 3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance. 4. May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation. 5. Reviews reports of budgets and activities. 6. Prepares ad hoc reports as needed. 7. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations. 8. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures. 9. May serve as property custodian for the department. 10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications
  • Designs original print and digital materials — brochures, flyers, signage, presentations, social media, reports, ads and event collateral — supporting College marketing and communications.
  • Maintains and updates College websites in the University's CMS, reviewing content for accuracy, usability, accessibility and visual consistency.
  • Creates and optimizes web graphics, page layouts and digital assets; improves overall organization and user experience of College web content.
  • Prepares and preps files for print, digital publication and vendor production; maintains templates for cross-platform consistency.
  • Collaborates with communications staff, faculty and campus partners to develop visual concepts and publish updates on deadline.
  • Takes, selects, edits and incorporates photography, video and graphics into audience-focused visual storytelling. Shoots and edits short-form video for social media, web and promotional campaigns, including on-site event and interview footage.
  • Handles basic video post-production: cutting, captioning, graphics/lower thirds, audio cleanup and export for each platform.
  • Ensures all work meets University and College brand standards, visual identity guidelines and accessibility requirements.

Education:
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
