Champion Healthcare of North Texas is seeking an exceptional Director of Clinical Services (DCS) to lead our hospice clinical team with excellence, integrity, accountability, and compassion. The Opportunity The Director of Clinical Services provides leadership and oversight of Champion Healthcare's clinical hospice operations and works closely with executive leadership, physicians, nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members, and operational partners. This individual will help ensure that clinical services are delivered safely, compassionately, efficiently, and in accordance with the Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation, Texas regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and Champion's standards of care. What You Will Lead Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, mentorship, and accountability for the clinical team. Promote a culture of professionalism, integrity, teamwork, urgency, and patient-centered care. Ensure patients receive appropriate, timely, and compassionate hospice services. Provide oversight and support to RN case managers, LVNs, hospice aides, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Monitor patient decline, symptom management, changes in condition, and appropriate escalation of care. Ensure clinical documentation accurately reflects the patient's condition, hospice eligibility, interventions, response to care, and ongoing plan of care. Maintain expectations for timely and complete clinical documentation. Support appropriate management of admissions, recertifications, changes in level of care, transfers, discharges, and end-of-life care. Participate in and provide clinical leadership during interdisciplinary group meetings. Collaborate effectively with the Hospice Medical Director and hospice physicians. Help identify patients entering the final days of life and ensure appropriate clinical support and visit frequency. Oversee clinical staffing, caseload distribution, continuity of care, and appropriate utilization of clinical resources. Provide education, coaching, competency development, and corrective guidance when needed. Participate in clinical orientation and ongoing staff education. Monitor clinical performance indicators and participate in QAPI and performance-improvement initiatives. Assist with survey readiness and maintain a culture of continuous regulatory preparedness. Ensure clinical operations comply with CMS requirements, Texas hospice regulations, organizational policies, and accepted standards of hospice practice. Foster strong, professional relationships with patients, families, facilities, referral partners, and community partners. Work collaboratively with executive leadership to identify opportunities to strengthen clinical quality, efficiency, employee development, and patient outcomes. We are looking for someone who knows their patients, understands what is happening within the clinical department, and is willing to step in when the team needs leadership. Understands that regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, appropriate utilization, and excellent patient care are shared responsibilities. Communicates professionally. Can have difficult conversations respectfully, collaborate across disciplines, solve problems, and maintain professionalism under pressure. Qualifications Current, unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Hospice and/or palliative care experience strongly preferred. Previous nursing leadership, clinical management, DON, DCS, or similar supervisory experience preferred. Strong understanding of hospice clinical operations and interdisciplinary care. Knowledge of Medicare hospice regulations and Conditions of Participation preferred. Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to coach, mentor, educate, and hold clinical staff accountable. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Comfortable utilizing electronic medical records and clinical reporting systems. Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, discretion, sound judgment, and integrity.
