Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Coordinator / Front Desk team member to join our oral surgery practice. This position is the first point of contact for our patients and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional experience from the moment they call or walk through our doors. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and cared for. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions Schedule and coordinate patient appointments Check patients in and out and maintain accurate patient information Collect payments and accurately log payments in patient ledgers Review treatment plans, financial information, and office policies with patients Coordinate referrals and communicate with referring dental offices Maintain accurate and organized patient records Obtain necessary medical and dental history information Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, clinical staff, and referring offices Assist with daily front-office operations and other administrative duties as needed Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Qualifications Previous dental, medical, or healthcare front-office experience preferred Excellent communication and customer service skills Professional, friendly, and compassionate demeanor Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy office environment Comfortable working with computers and learning practice management software Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook a plus Ability to work effectively as part of a team Dependable, punctual, and professional Experience Experience in a dental, medical, healthcare, or customer-service front-office position preferred Experience with patient registration, check-in/check-out, and maintaining accurate records Experience with collecting payments Experience with dental or medical practice-management software is a plus Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a busy office while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor Dental or oral surgery experience is strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
