2026-2027 Job Overview 50 Stars Staffing is seeking a qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Consultant for a school-based position in Lafayette, IN. The DHH Consultant will provide consultation, instructional support, and specialized services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing while collaborating with school teams to ensure students have equitable access to education. Responsibilities Provide consultation and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to develop and implement effective educational strategies. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide recommendations regarding accommodations and specialized services. Conduct observations and assessments to determine students' educational needs. Recommend assistive listening devices, classroom accommodations, and communication supports. Support implementation of hearing-related accommodations and monitor student progress. Provide staff training and guidance on best practices for supporting students with hearing impairments. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field. Valid Indiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing license/certification (or eligibility to obtain). Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.
