Job Description

Job Title:
Exam Technician Position Summary:
The Exam Technician plays a vital role in supporting the clinical team by assisting with patient evaluations, documentation, and care delivery. This position is responsible for gathering patient information, performing specific examination procedures, accurately recording findings, and supporting the provider throughout the patient visit. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories, including current complaints, past medical history, and relevant health information Perform examination procedures as directed including range of motion (ROM) assessments and obtaining vital signs Accurately record all history and exam findings in the patient record in a timely manner Assist the provider during examinations by documenting findings and taking detailed notes for the doctor's portion of the visit Support imaging procedures, including assisting with X-ray studies in accordance with office protocols and safety standards Provide patient education and communicate care recommendations as directed by the provider Demonstrate therapeutic exercises to patients and ensure proper form and understanding Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient exam area Collaborate with other team members and assist with general office duties as needed Uphold patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and office compliance standards Track patient re-exam schedules and treatment plans
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare-related education preferred Prior experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is preferred Basic computer skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and orthopedic terminology (preferred) Willingness to learn and be trained on office-specific procedures
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods Ability to demonstrate all therapeutic exercises Ability to assist patients with movement and positioning Occasional lifting or supporting of patients as needed
Work Environment:
Clinical healthcare setting with frequent patient interaction Team-oriented atmosphere requiring flexibility and adaptability
Pay:
$15.00 - $22.50 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 36.0 per week
