Category Laboratory - Histology Job Type Direct Hire Opportunity available for an experienced leader in laboratory medicine to oversee histology operations in a dynamic, accredited clinical setting. This direct hire role focuses on both strategic and day-to-day management of a laboratory section, combining hands-on histology expertise with high-level business and people management skills. Annual compensation for this position is $162,240.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a clinical laboratory, including direct work in histology Current Tennessee Medical Laboratory Supervisor license required Evidence of strong people management, operational planning, and fiscal oversight Demonstrated ability to guide teams, manage performance, and foster professional development Proven experience setting objectives, optimizing workflow, and ensuring regulatory compliance
Core Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate all histology operations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with quality standards Develop and implement section goals and priorities aligned with greater organizational strategies Create and monitor budgets, with full fiscal accountability for assigned section(s) Evaluate processes for continuous improvement, challenging existing practices and fostering innovative solutions Conduct performance reviews, manage payroll, and oversee scheduling, including overtime and FlexPTO stewardship Guide, coach, and develop staff through constructive feedback and career planning initiatives Ensure adherence to all regulations and interpret complex compliance requirements as needed Lead by example, inspiring a culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability This role offers a platform to apply your clinical expertise, business acumen, and leadership abilities to shape healthcare outcomes and laboratory excellence.
