Job Description

Category Laboratory - Histology Job Type Direct Hire This is a direct hire opportunity for a skilled professional to join a busy histopathology department, playing a vital role in the preparation and processing of tissue specimens for diagnostic review. This position requires expertise in histology and related laboratory procedures, supporting both routine and specialized testing under the guidance of an experienced team. Individuals who thrive in a high-volume, detail-oriented setting and show strong initiative in troubleshooting will excel in this environment. Schedule/Hours All shifts available, with particular demand for 2nd and 3rd shift candidates. (Shift hours may vary) Shift differentials apply: $3/hr for 2nd, $3.5/hr for 3rd shift when working at least 4 hours of the shift. Key Responsibilities Prepare specimens by embedding, cutting, and staining—performing histologic and immunocytochemical procedures as requested. Conduct and record instrument maintenance, ensuring compliance with quality control standards. Support and train fellow histotechnologists and histotechnicians on laboratory protocols. Accurately identify tissue and coordinate with medical staff to ensure adequacy and appropriate processing. Handle stat requests and process specimens for molecular testing. Take responsibility for additional duties as assigned in a dynamic laboratory environment.
Position Qualifications Certification required:
