Full Job Description Job Description:
The Histotechnician (Non-Certified) prepares high quality stained sections of Patient tissues for microscopic examination by Pathologist. Histotechnicians perform multiple automated and manual procedures on tissue portions with resultant high quality slides which facilitate accurate Pathology reports.
Required Skills:
Knowledgeable human anatomy. Photography skills. Safely handle sharp instruments. Knowledgeable in use of volatile and carcinogenic chemicals. Ability to withstand noxious odors. Computer literacy. Language and communication skills. Organization skills. Problem solving skills. Ability to work efficiently when under pressure.
Required Experience:
Work Experience:
One year of experience recent Clinical Laboratory experience preferred.
License/Registration/Certification:
Certified or registered as a Histotechnologist preferred.
Education and Training:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Completion of an accredited histology program or equivalent on the job traing required.
