Responsibilities Prepare tissue specimens through grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and mounting for microscopic examination Collect and process biological samples following strict laboratory protocols and aseptic techniques Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory procedures, specimen tracking, and patient information Ensure proper handling of specimens using correct anatomy knowledge, pathology terminology, and laboratory techniques Perform routine quality control checks on equipment and reagents to guarantee reliable results Follow safety guidelines diligently, including aseptic techniques and infection control practices to prevent contamination Requirements Prior clinical laboratory experience with tissue processing or histology techniques Experience working in research laboratories or hospital settings preferred Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology essential for precise specimen handling Proficiency in laboratory procedures such as fixation, embedding, microtomy, staining, and slide preparation Hands-on experience with specimen collection methods and processing of biological samples Familiarity with gastrointestinal histology techniques a plus Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards, aseptic technique, and laboratory equipment maintenance Excellent attention to detail coupled with the ability to follow complex protocols accurately Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly support exceptional patient care.
