Duties Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic examination, ensuring adherence to laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) Perform laboratory tissue sectioning with precision to produce thin, uniform slices suitable for analysis Conduct histological staining techniques, including immunohistochemistry, to highlight cellular components and structures Operate and maintain medical laboratory equipment used in tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining Follow CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols Assist in pathology testing by preparing specimens, documenting results accurately, and maintaining detailed records within Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Support specimen collection and processing, including handling biopsies or surgical tissue samples with aseptic technique Apply immunological laboratory techniques to identify specific antigens or markers within tissue samples Maintain a clean, organized workspace while practicing proper laboratory safety procedures at all times Collaborate with pathologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate sample analysis and reporting Requirements Proven clinical laboratory experience with a focus on histology or pathology laboratories Hands-on experience with laboratory tissue sectioning, staining, and histotechnological techniques Knowledge of laboratory tissue sample preparation methods and pathology testing procedures Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) for data entry and sample tracking Understanding of CLIA regulations and compliance standards relevant to medical laboratories Experience with immunohistochemistry, immunological techniques, and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology concepts Ability to perform phlebotomy or specimen collection when necessary in hospital or clinical settings Competence in operating medical laboratory equipment safely and effectively Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow detailed protocols precisely Effective communication skills for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams involved in patient care or research projects Join us as a Histology Technician and be part of a passionate team committed to excellence in laboratory science.
