Direct Support Professional (DSP)•
Weekend Shifts Available Starting Pay:
$13.00/hour Weekend Day & Overnight Shifts Available | Additional Weekday Shifts Available Looking for a job where you can make a difference — and a schedule that works for you? Loyd Homes of Decatur, Inc. is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work with adults with intellectual disabilities in our residential group homes in Decatur. Our biggest need right now is
WEEKEND STAFF
, with both daytime and overnight 12-hour shifts available. We are also hiring for weekday positions and welcome applicants interested in any of our available shifts. No previous DSP experience is required. We provide and pay for required training! Weekend Shifts

  • 9:00 AM Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available depending on shift availability and scheduling needs.
What Does a DSP Do? As a Direct Support Professional, you will work in a residential home setting helping adults with intellectual disabilities with their everyday routines, needs, and goals. Your role is to provide a safe, supportive, and positive home environment while encouraging each individual to be as independent as possible.
Responsibilities include:
Providing supervision, support, and companionship Assisting individuals with daily living activities as needed Encouraging independence and helping individuals work toward personal goals Preparing meals Assisting with household tasks and light housekeeping Providing transportation as needed Following each individual's Person-Centered Plan (PCP) Assisting with medications after completing required MAC training Completing daily documentation and maintaining accurate records Attending required training and staff meetings Working as part of a team to provide consistent, compassionate care No Experience? That's Okay! Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is helpful, but it is not required . We are looking for people who are: Dependable and responsible Patient and compassionate Kind and respectful Flexible Good communicators Willing to learn Comfortable working independently and as part of a team We can provide the training. Requirements Applicants must:
Be 18 years of age or older Have a high school diploma or GED Have a current Alabama driver's license and acceptable driving record Be able to pass a background check Be able to pass a drug screening We Provide & Pay for Required Training Loyd Homes provides and pays for required training and certifications, including: CPR/First Aid TB skin testing Medication Assistance Certification (MAC) training You do not need to already have these certifications to apply.
