Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, assisted living, nursing homes, and community environments. In this vital role, you will assist clients with daily activities, monitor their health and well-being, and promote independence while ensuring their safety and comfort. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized care and support. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Use proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods, including Hoyer lifts and other equipment, to ensure safe mobility. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols. Provide emotional support, companionship, and effective communication to foster trust and comfort for residents or clients. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance. Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans. Support residents' participation in social activities and promote engagement within the community setting. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to support diverse needs. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is advantageous. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper patient transfer techniques; manual handling skills are essential. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition or behavior. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, documentation, and teamwork within healthcare settings. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, patient personal care assistance, and patient transfer methods is desirable.
