Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities and special needs. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Duties Drive the clients home from the facility. Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, and meal preparation. Provide support for individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Monitor patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or health status and report findings as necessary. Facilitate communication between clients and their families or healthcare providers as needed. Lift and transfer clients safely using appropriate techniques to prevent injury to both the client and caregiver. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and care provided. Experience No previous experience required if you are willing to learn and understand the client's needs Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a related field such as social work, home care, senior care, or hospice care is preferred. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and memory care strategies is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. A compassionate approach combined with patience and understanding is essential for success in this role.
