Home Care & Health Agency LLC is a California-based home care organization supporting adults with developmental disabilities in living full, independent lives within their communities. We are committed to person-centered, dignified care that respects every client's goals, preferences, and individuality. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate ILS (Independent Living Services) Caregiver to support a male adult client in developing and maintaining the skills needed to live as independently as possible. This client has expressed a preference for a male caregiver, and we are seeking candidates who meet that need in alignment with his personal care and comfort preferences. This is a hands-on, community-based role for someone who takes genuine pride in supporting others — not just completing tasks, but building real skills and confidence with the people they serve. Responsibilities Support the client in developing independent living skills across daily life areas including personal care, meal preparation, household management, budgeting, and community navigation. Assist with transportation to appointments, community activities, and employment or educational pursuits. Encourage and coach the client toward greater independence rather than creating dependency Provide personal care assistance as needed, with attention to the client's dignity and stated preferences. Document services accurately and in accordance with Regional Center and agency requirements. Communicate regularly with the WAYS team regarding client progress, concerns, and goals. Support the client in accessing community resources, social activities, and self-advocacy opportunities Follow all health, safety, and emergency protocols Requirements Must successfully pass DOJ and FBI background check Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start) Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, encouraging approach Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in caregiving, direct support, home care, or a related field (required) Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities Familiarity with Independent Living Services or Regional Center programs Experience with behavioral support or skills-based coaching Bilingual a plus Compensation & Schedule $23 - $24 per hour based on experience
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (some weekend shifts may be required)
