Our program is primarily medically and health-care focused. We provide residential support, nursing oversight, personal care, and assistance to individuals with special health care needs. Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision to adults with special health care needs in an ARFPSHN setting. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene. Assist with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and use of adaptive equipment as trained. Follow each resident's Individual Health Care Plan (IHCP), Individual Program Plan (IPP), and facility care protocols. Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report health or safety concerns to the RN/LVN or supervisor. Support residents with community activities, appointments, recreation, socialization, and development of daily living skills. Maintain a safe, clean, sanitary, and comfortable home environment. Complete required daily documentation and service records accurately and on time. Follow infection-control, emergency, fall-prevention, aspiration, seizure, and other resident-specific safety precautions. Work collaboratively with RNs, LVNs, RTs, administrators, families, Regional Center representatives, and other members of the care team. Protect resident privacy, dignity, rights, independence, and personal choices. Participate in required training, competency validation, staff meetings, and in-services. Perform other resident-care and household responsibilities within the DSP scope of duties and facility policies.
