The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides person-centered support, supervision, and care to adult men with developmental disabilities in accordance with Title 22 regulations and agency policies. The DSP ensures the health, safety, dignity, and well-being of each individual while promoting independence, skill development, and community integration.
This position is for a Level 6 Adult Residential Facility Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Health & Safety Support Provide continuous supervision as required by each individual's needs and service plan. Implement safety procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or unsafe behaviors. Assist individuals with daily living activities, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility. Monitor for changes in physical or behavioral health and report concerns promptly. Administer medications according to training and agency protocols Behavioral Support Implement behavior support plans consistently and professionally. Use approved crisis-prevention and de-escalation techniques. Document behavioral incidents accurately and in a timely manner. Reinforce positive behaviors and teach replacement skills as directed by the behavior team. Personal Care & Daily Living Skills Support individuals with meal preparation and dietary needs. Assist with housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and room organization. Encourage independence by teaching and modeling daily living skills. Community Integration Accompany individuals into the community for appointments, activities, and outings. Promote socialization, communication, and participation in meaningful activities. Support individuals in accessing community resources safely and appropriately. Documentation & Compliance Complete all required documentation, including daily notes, incident reports, and data collection.
