In this vital role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, fostering a sense of community and well-being. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, and hygiene. Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans. Observe and document patient conditions, including patient monitoring and patient observation, ensuring safety at all times. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning while adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences. Facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall wellness. Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and support patient transfer methods safely. Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through routine cleaning tasks and ensure a hygienic environment. Follow HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and uphold resident rights. Assist with transportation to medical appointments, community outings, or personal errands. Support residents with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities by implementing individualized care plans. Document all care activities accurately and communicate effectively with team members about resident needs. Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience working with individuals with autism, dementia (including Alzheimer's care), or other neurodevelopmental disorders is highly valued. Knowledge of hospice care, memory care, geriatrics, and long-term care practices is preferred. Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts, manual handling techniques, and patient personal care assistance is essential. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications in medication administration or HIPAA compliance are advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong skills in client communication, caregiving, patient monitoring, and adhering to care plans while maintaining a positive attitude toward supporting individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
