Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals, assist with cooking, and ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness in living spaces to promote a safe environment. Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to foster socialization and independence. Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports while respecting privacy standards. Follow safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and emergency response plans to ensure resident safety at all times. Qualifications Applicants must have DSP 1 and preferably DSP 2. Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities. Certifications such as CPR, first aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred or required upon hire. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs as needed. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging effectively with residents. Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through caregiving. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed.
