Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health conditions. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, home & community care, or long-term care settings, along with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with individuals in various care environments, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and home care settings. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans Support clients during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer techniques Observe and document patient conditions, noting any changes in health or behavior Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning tasks as needed Engage clients in social activities and promote community involvement Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality of patient information Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR and First Aid skills when necessary Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to coordinate comprehensive care Qualifications Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; willingness to obtain these is required if not already certified Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory care needs is preferred Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks involved in caregiving duties Strong communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and person-centered support This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring assistance while fostering independence within a caring environment.
