Job Overview Caregiver Direct Support ProfessionalDirect Male Care Staff (prefer individual with DSP training) position open working with adult TBI survivors in a residential setting. Position requires assisting TBI residents with ADL's, physical therapies, dealing with behaviors and working one-on-one with certain residents. We are a small non-profit organization that assist adults who have suffered either a traumatic or acquired brain injury. Our homes allow them to live independently in a community of similar residents, apart from homes for the elderly. Looking for male caregivers. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration accurately Implement behavior management strategies for individuals with dementia or developmental disabilities to ensure a calm and safe environment Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards Engage clients in social activities and facilitate communication to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Follow resident's rights policies diligently, respecting privacy and promoting dignity at all times Document care activities thoroughly in client records and communicate effectively with team members about client progress or changes Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid is required to ensure safety during emergencies Ability to operate standard passenger cars safely for client transportation or errands Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is preferred Strong understanding of resident's rights and safe patient lifting practices to promote safety for both clients and caregivers Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and manual handling tasks safely Join us in creating a caring environment where every individual receives personalized support that enhances their quality of life.
