Job Description

Job Summary Caregiver provides dependable, respectful, and person-centered assistance to clients in the comfort of their own homes. Each day may look different depending on the client's needs, preferences, routines, and service plan. A typical shift may include assisting with activities of daily living, providing companionship and meaningful engagement, preparing simple meals, assisting with light housekeeping and laundry, helping clients maintain a safe and organized living environment, accompanying clients to appointments or community activities when authorized, and providing reminders and supportive assistance with daily routines. Caregivers are expected to encourage independence rather than take over tasks the client can safely perform. The goal is to help each client remain as safe, comfortable, active, and independent as possible while maintaining dignity, privacy, and choice. Caregivers document services provided, communicate relevant observations to the appropriate supervisor, and follow all company policies, client service plans, safety procedures, and applicable regulations. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and cooking to support nutritional needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of the client's living space. Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation, especially for clients with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders.
