$22.00 HOURS Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Caregiving Specialist provides hands-on ADL support to clients in the day program, ensuring safety, independence, and dignity. They follow individualized plans and care protocols, respond to client needs in real time, and collaborate with staff to provide coordinated care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct support with ADLs including feeding, toileting, hygiene, mobility, transferring, and personal care. Implement individualized care plans and follow care protocols. Document all necessary Protocol Checklists, MARS, and other medical paperwork daily. Monitor client engagement, health, and behavior during caregiving activities. Adapt care approaches as needed to meet client capabilities safely. Communicate observations and notable changes to the Caregiving Manager, Client Success Advisors, and other staff. Promote client inclusion, dignity, and respect in all interactions. Ensure all caregiving activities are conducted safely and in a clean environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in caregiving or direct support for adults with IDD preferred. Knowledge of individualized plans, care protocols, and ADL support strategies. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and adaptability.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver a folding wheelchair as needed for loading and unloading during supported transitions. Activities take place on site and within community settings.

Requires ability to:

Drive a vehicle 1-3 hours per day; walk and push wheelchair: lift client during toileting, bend to stow and unload wheelchair away in vehicle; fold and lift wheelchairs: carry supplies; work continuously for 6 hours each day. Physical activities and required documentation often make up the majority of an 8-hour shift. Effective with shifting roles in facility and community, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment while dealing with behavioral situations both in public and private scenarios. Willingness and ability to respond to emergency situations as they arise.
