Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality direct care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in group home or in-home support, assisted living, or long-term care settings, with a strong focus on individual-centered care. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Support individuals in the community with doctor appointments or grocery shopping Provide patient observation to identify changes in health or behavior and report findings appropriately Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and food consistencies assist with feeding when necessary May need to utilize lifting equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through cleaning duties Follow Individual plans to ensure individualized support for each resident Document care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations in Therap Engage residents in social activities and promote community involvement through rec activities in the home or community. Respond promptly to emergencies with appropriate first aid or CPR if required. May need to accompany individuals to walk-in or ER. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to deliver comprehensive care May need to drive individuals to work, day program, or other activities. Requirements Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred Knowledge of patient care practices including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, autism support, hospice care, and senior care is highly desirable Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified Ability to work with individuals who have disabilities or developmental challenges by following protocols or guidelines. Strong interpersonal skills with patience and empathy for residents' needs Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility tasks up to 20lbs Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality Experience in DDS medication administration or ability to become certified within 6 months of hire. (We will assist with getting registered) Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed for coverage Ability to work collaboratively as a team with other staff in a professional manner. Must be reliable and punctual. Good work ethic desired. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to pass a drug screen and clean background check.
