Senior Helpers of New Haven Coast is hiring dependable and compassionate Caregivers and Personal Care Assistants to support seniors in their homes. Our caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent while providing families with trusted support and peace of mind. Flexible scheduling based on your availability Part-time and full-time opportunities Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts may be available Paid training and ongoing caregiver education Thoughtful client matching based on your skills, availability, and location Support from a local, nurse-owned leadership team A respectful workplace where caregivers are supported and valued Primary Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary according to each client's individual care plan and may include: Providing companionship and meaningful conversation Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs Supporting safe walking, mobility, positioning, and transfers Preparing meals and assisting with eating when needed Providing medication reminders Performing light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes Running errands and providing transportation when authorized Supporting clients living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia Observing and promptly reporting changes in a client's condition or needs Accurately documenting services and activities Maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients Following each client's care plan and all Senior Helpers policies and procedures Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Compassionate, dependable, patient, and respectful Able to communicate effectively with clients, families, and the office team Able to follow care plans and complete required documentation Willing to complete required training and skills assessments Reliable transportation to and from client assignments Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance when driving is required for an assignment Prior experience in caregiving, home care, assisted living, a nursing home, or a related setting is preferred but not required for every assignment CNA, HHA, PCA, or similar training is welcomed Physical Requirements Caregivers must be able to perform the essential duties required for their assigned clients, with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties may include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, performing light housekeeping, and safely assisting clients with mobility and transfers.
