Personal Care Assistant Job Summary:

Responsibilities :

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations . Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, assisting with feeding when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and sanitation tasks in accordance with health standards . Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges. Collaborate with care teams to develop and follow personalized care plans that address each client's unique needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments; group home experience is highly valued. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or deterioration. Certification in First Aid and CPR; additional training in hospice care or memory care is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, autism, dementia, or other special needs populations. Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long shifts; comfortable using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts.
