Location:
South Windsor, CT & Manchester, CT Pay:
$19.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-6:30 PM (Weekend hours may be available) Make a Difference Every Day Accessing Abilities is seeking an experienced and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an adult with developmental disabilities in the South Windsor and Manchester area. This is a rewarding opportunity for a DSP who is passionate about helping individuals build independence, strengthen life skills, and actively participate in their community. The individual is involved in Special Olympics, self-advocacy groups, and other community activities, making this an engaging and meaningful role. What We Offer $19.00 per hour Consistent weekday schedule Opportunity to make a meaningful impact Supportive team environment Community-based work Build lasting relationships with the individuals you support What You'll Do Support daily living activities and life skills development Assist with shopping, hygiene, banking, and other ADLs Provide transportation from designated pick-up locations to home Transport to grocery stores, medical appointments, and community activities Encourage community engagement and participation in local programs Support involvement in Special Olympics and self-advocacy activities Promote independence and self-confidence Complete service documentation and collaborate with support teams
Qualifications Required:
Valid Connecticut Driver's License Reliable transportation Clean driving record CPR & First Aid Certification DDS Required Training (must already be completed) Previous DDS/DSP experience required Ability to pass background and reference checks Preferred but
Not Required:
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in community settings Strong understanding of ADLs and skill-building supports Experience promoting community integration and independence Patient, kind, and dependable personality Ideal Candidate You are patient, dependable, and experienced in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. You enjoy helping others achieve greater independence, building meaningful relationships, and encouraging active participation within the community.
