Sugar Valley Youth Services has been an APD-licensed provider since 2018. We support adults with developmental disabilities and autism in four homes in Jacksonville and St. Johns, FL. We earned a 100% Qlarant score in 2025 , and we're proud of the real progress our clients make in our care. We're hiring two Direct Support Professionals . They'll be steady, reliable people who show up for our clients every shift. The schedule (please read first) Every Saturday and Sunday are required. This is the core of the role.

Open shifts:

Saturday, Sunday (8a-4p) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (3p-11p) 8-hour shifts What you'll do Keep residents safe through active supervision (your phone stays put away on shift) Teach independent living skills: laundry, cleaning, dishes, cooking, personal hygiene, social and communication skills Support positive behavior and help residents work toward their personal goals Prepare meals and snacks, and keep the home clean and sanitized Drive residents to community outings in a company vehicle Type clear shift notes on each resident's day What you need High school diploma or GED At least 1 year of paid experience in caregiving, healthcare, residential care or disability services Valid Florida driver's license and a clean 3-year driving record Ability to pass a Florida Level 2 background screening (livescan prints) Patience, good judgment, and a calm, kind presence What we provide Paid CPR/First Aid and medication administration training Structured, well-run homes with clear expectations and a supportive team Regular communication directly with the house manager and the owner This role is a great fit if you: want a steady long-term position, like structure and routine, and take pride in helping someone learn a new skill. This role is not a fit if you: need weekends off, are looking for something short-term, or want a job where you can sit on your phone.
